Description
Tekton Design stands alone as the only loudspeaker manufacturer crafting luxury-grade fidelity priced in the value category of hi-fi.
This loudspeaker outperforms comparable models from Magico, Sonus Faber, YG Acoustics, and Wilson Audio, even those priced above $85,000, in both sonic quality and measured performance.
The Tekton Design Encore prioritizes performance without compromise. We believe stunning fidelity doesn’t have to come from a loudspeaker in the luxury category (Sonus Faber, Magico, Wilson, Focal, etc.) with a museum-worthy price tag. How can we say this? How have we produced a loudspeaker that surpasses the performance of luxury models priced at $85,000 per pair? We do it through our patented intellectual property.
“I have lost track of the phone calls and email correspondence from audiophile clients informing me of Double Impacts, Moabs, Encores, and Ulfberhts outperforming the most popular competitor’s models priced from $10,000 to $100,000 per pair.” – Eric Alexander, inventor and audio designer
“Every audiophile should expect perfect midrange! I’ve been inventing and designing loudspeakers for over 30 years and have only heard the words ‘perfect midrange’ from the mouths of discerning audiophiles in reference to our patented tweeter arrays.” – Eric Alexander, inventor and audio designer
The Tekton Design Encore elevates the award-winning Double Impact concept to a whole new level. Our patented midrange tweeter array and premium European-crafted mid-woofers deliver an unparalleled sonic performance – smooth, lifelike, and breathtakingly detailed; i.e., perfect midrange.

I’ve only had my Encores with beryllium tweeters for two weeks but the verdict is obvious: they are phenomenal, everything I could want in a speaker. The Encores replaced some four-way active speakers of my own design (I’ve also heard some nice commercial speakers from Revel, Wilson, Focal, Thiel, Magnepan, etc.). Based on what previous reviewers said about the benefit of better electronics with the Encores, I bought a nice pair of monoblocks to drive the speakers, so my setup now includes:
Vinyl playback: Pro-Ject turntable, Grado Reference cartridge, MoFi preamp
Digital playback: Bluesound Node 3 streamer, Yamaha Aventage disc player
DAC: Schiit Yggdrasil (Analog Devices chips, Analog 2, Unison USB)
Preamp: Schiit Freya+
Power amps: Audio by Van Alstine DVA M225 balanced monoblocks
Interconnects: Blue Jeans Cable
Speakers: Tekton Encore w/central beryllium tweeters
Sub: SVS SB16 Ultra
In my opinion, this is all high-value, high-performing gear, but the new power amps and, most importantly, the speakers elevated my system to a much, much higher level. With this DAC-amp-speaker combination, digital sources sound and feel like real music for the first time; I now have no real need to use tubes and/or vinyl to achieve some elusive smoothness or magic (although tubes and vinyl are cool and sound lovely). It’s all there, in glorious spatial detail that’s never harsh, just so musical, so present. My wife, a former professional orchestral musician (flute and piccolo), agrees, and says things like “I’m at a concert” and “this is trippy.” We listen to jazz, folk, classical and rock, and it’s all glorious.
Our open floor plan living room/entry/kitchen/open loft has high ceilings and lots of cubic volume that makes authoritative bass reproduction difficult, but the Encores do very well. It was easy to integrate the SVS sub (low-pass at 35hz, 24 db/octave), which is beneficial in our living room.
These speakers are not inexpensive, but what a value! My hat is off to Eric and the hard-working Tekton team.

OMG! The Encores are definitely one of the best “Full Range” speakers out there. I have mine hooked up to a Parasound A21+, Schiit Kara preamp and a California Audio Labs Icon MK2 cd player. With good source material the Encores will amaze you with how good your music will sound in your home. Playing the live tracks from Pink Floyd’s Delicate Sound of Thunder CD it sounds like you are there. The Encores are very dynamic and the bass is deep tight and accurate. The midrange and highs perfect and amazing accurate. Playing organ some tracks from Michael Murray’s The Young Bach CD, the sustained sub bass low notes are no problem for the Encores, so clean and tight. At the high end of the organ notes pinpoint accurate and so satisfying. For jazz music, Herb Alpert’s Second Wind CD will blow you away with how good it sounds. Do I like these speakers? No, I love them! I highly recommend them. No regrets on buying these. I would do it all over again. Thank you Eric Alexander for building such a wonderful speaker for those of us who love music to enjoy.

I have had my Encores for a couple of years. I was using Parasound HALO SS when I bought the Encores. They blew away every speaker I ever owned. A few months later I changed my electronics to McIntosh C2500 pre and MC275 mk 6’s for an all tube setup. The Encores stepped up and improved the sound dramatically. Through a sequence of events I felt that the C2500 pre was limiting the sound. I had an opportunity to do a home demo some of the new Mac 12000 series. I decided to go with the C12000 pre and MC1.25KW amps. The Encores once again stepped up and improved the sound signature of the system. The Encores are amazing and have stepped up with each upgrade and continue to provide excellent sound across the various genres I listen to. Look forward to them being part of my forever system.

I bought my Encores in April 2022 and I’m absolutely staggered by their beautiful performance. Before my Encores I had a pair of high-end horn speakers and they sound very similar in terms of responsiveness and speed, but without the coloration that horn speakers tend to show. These Tektons play all kinds of music effortless and with amazing detail and precision. Just like life music, natural and dynamic. For me these are the perfect speakers, worth way more than they cost.

I bought the Encores two years ago. I do not have the BE tweeters and they sound phenomenal. The bass is incredible the highs are perfect. I am running a Mark Levinson Amp. Just like the previous review the better the equipment the better they sound. The speakers are completely holographic in image and separation. The soundstage is huge on the speakers. I went to a hi-fi shop in town that had $80,000 worth of electronics with 40k speakers ,and then went home and warmed up my system. The encores absolutely blew them away.

Well, I’ve had these Encore’s about 12 day’s. I’ve letting them break in. Their about three hundred hours in. These are without question the best speakers I’ve ever owned. I’ll go as far as to say the best I’ve heard under $80,000. I paid $7300 on the specials page so I didn’t have to wait on them to be made. They just happened to be built out exactly as I would have ordered them. I have them with the BE tweeter upgrade. I’ve been used to listening to ribbons and plainer speakers. I won’t go in to all of the usual audiophile descriptions here but I bought them sight un seen. I could not be more pleased. For the money you won’t find anything at or near their price point that will compete with them. For those who are curious about the BE Tweeters let me say once they’re broken in there is absolutely no ear fatigue what so ever. The highs are extended without drawing attention to themselves. The speaker is very coherent from top to bottom. Sweet on top and clean on the bottom. The resolution is spectacular and on par with any planer or ribbon but with more meat on the bones so to speak. More three dimensional than the ribbons or planers better dynamics. The speakers are so effortless. Eric you are genius! I would highly recommend the Encores. Just make sure you have a proper sized room and that you allow them to break in and you will be rewarded for your efforts. The better the electronics you put in front of them the better they get.
